Intel PRO/Wireless 2100 Card Not Recognized on R40

#1 Post by danieldavid » Wed Mar 08, 2006 10:21 am

I'm trying to help a friend with her R40 (Type 2721-BDG), which includes a built in Intel PRO/Wireless 2100 Network Mini PCI card (FRU: 91P7267).

Well last week she finally got a wireless router and then we discovered that the above card is not recognized by her computer. I have removed and reinstalled it to make sure that it is sitting properly in its socket, but it is still not being recognized.

Has anyone had a similar problem?

Is there any BIOS setting for enabling the WiFi card?

With many thanks,
Daniel

Go to the Control Panel, hardware device and check the lan card. Is it come with an "!" sign? If so, you need to find a suitable driver for your mini-PCI card. After the driver installed, your computer should recognised the wireless lan card.

Is the light on below the screen?(looks like a radio tower) If not, you either don't have the right drivers (or any) or it isn't on.
