T30 w/ IBM High-Rate Wireless LAN w/ Modem -- 802.1x

#1 Post by bcail » Thu Mar 09, 2006 8:12 pm

Help. I have a T30 with the dreaded IBM High-Rate Wireless LAN (802.11b) with Modem II mini-PCI card.

I need to be able to access a wireless network secured with 802.1x (PEAP ) authentication.

I cannot find firmware/driver updates anywhere for this card than enables 802.1x.

I tried to apply the driver from Intel website but Windows says my hardward (IBM rebranded card) is not compatible.

Because I still use the modem some and it's integrated on the mini-PCI card, I can't just swap out the miniPCI card for 802.11g --- I'd lose the modem.

Anyone had any luck getting 802.1x working on above noted card? If so, HOW???

Thanks!

you can have my modem for small amount if you want. it's for the compact daughter card (CDC) slot that is next to the mini pci. that way you can freely use the minipci.
