7.2 vs 6.6 vs maxslim60 for the hungry t43

#1 Post by nimativ » Mon Mar 13, 2006 7:11 am

hi all.
the t43 seems to be a hungry power machine and the provided battery sucks.can't get past 3 hours.
i need an urgent upgrade.
the 9 cell batteries i found are the 6.6 or 7.2.....with the 7.2 being extremely expensive.
is it worth it spending almost double for the 7.2 ones? also i was looking at this "max slim 60" external battery that costs 80 quid and seems very capable . anyone have any experience with it? is it any good ?
I will try and underclock my t43 as mentioned in the sticky thread but i defently need more power for radical improvement.

Try using Power Manager agressively, you can get more runtime.

The 9-cells ARE worth it (see sigline; I use a 9-cell and an UltraBay Slim battery), but I can only speak to the IBM batteries. I don't really know what your aforementioned 6.6 or 7.2 refers to.

2672-KBU X32, 1.5GB RAM, 7200 rpm TravelStar HDD.

Get the 9-Cell battery (preferably the 7.2 one) , slap one in the Ultrabay if you want as well; I have gotten 4:30 without undervolting.

I would strongly recommend to stick to IBM Batteries as well and not "Generic" ones.

I met someone who looks a lot like you.
She does the things you do.
But she is an IBM.
