ThinkPad Miracles... Anybody?

#1 Post by ThinkPad R » Mon Mar 13, 2006 11:18 pm

Here are lists of my miracles:

1) I wiped off my little brother's drawings w/ highlighter easily

2) The B key that sank began to work again by itself.

3) The keyboard & the entire laptop survived my little brother's abuse (i.e. hitting).

4) I dropped the laptop and it survived. Only the left hinge was weakened.

Well... it was on the carpet. ha ha ha. R40.
edit
5) Also, 1 of my friends grabbed the entire laptop by the LCD. It was all rippling.

But, although it is slightly "darkened" in the areas (right & left), no dead pixels.

On Feb 4, 2006 I was able to order an openbay CTO t43 without any ram/hdd/optical/windows.

I consider that a miracle. Saved me a bundle too.

My fiancée stepped on her X30. It cracked the screen's plastic bezel around the LCD screen, but the LCD itself was untouched.

It's Linda-proof :)

I was holding it about chest high (i'm 6'2") turning from the back door of my car, it fell on its rear corner, i tried to deflect it with my foot to break the fall a little, some plastic broke around the usb- ps2 area, obviously i was fearing the worst but it came right out of hibernation and has been perfect ever since. :)

Well, yes. I was pulling a either a 755Ce or a 760-something (EL? XL?) out of my computer bag after I got home one night. My hands were cold, the 75x/76x series was heavy, you get the picture. Landed on the uncarpeted kitchen floor on the left rear corner right where all the power and screen connections were. My heart just stopped.

I picked it up and looked it over. Not even a scratch. I opened it assuming the screen would be in shards. It was perfect. I turned it on assuming the hard drive would never spin up. No problems. The whole system never missed a beat.
