100GB HDD does not work in T23!
Hi!
I purchased a Samsung Spinpoint 100GB 5400rpm HDD and my T23 doesn't "find" it!
The HDD is ok, i tested it with an usb adapter
I have the newest Bios and controller firmware 1.18 and 1.06a, is there any solution to solve this problem??
please help!

so the story isn't finished now...
After setting the bios to default all runs perfectly, I bootet three times...
Then I want to change some bios settings becaus the default settings are not optimal in some things.
I changed:
activate serial, infrared port; chance ac/battery power management to custom, deactivate modem waktup function, power on beep... all things that have nothing to do with the hdd. especially in the whole bios are no hdd settings in exception the boot settings.
And now the T23 has the old problem: no hdd found!!!
I set the bios settings to default again but no reason!
This must be a bios - problem!
I contacted ibm support and am waiting for the answer...
The last opinion could be flashing bios again but i don't know if it works because I have already the newest bios version and it could be that the IBM Bios update programm does not permit a bios flash over the same version. Or flashing an older version and then the newest again could be an opinion.
And the very last opinion is an other HDD.
Can anyone please tell me that the Hitachi Travelstar 5K100 100GB (HTS541010G9AT00) works on the T23??

I can categorically state that the 7K100 works in the T23, don't have a 5K100 though.BachManiac wrote:Can anyone please tell me that the Hitachi Travelstar 5K100 100GB (HTS541010G9AT00) works on the T23??
The Hitachi compatibility sheet shows that the HD was tested and approved for the T21. This usually means that the HD will also work with all newer T series machines as well.

I have also a T20 and here the HDD works without any problems! ironically! the T20 is two years older than the T23!
Now I flashed an older Bios version 1.17 and the HDD works!! amazing!
I also can change bios settings. All works fine.... still now...

so now I give it up!
today I turned the T23 on and it was not able to find the hdd! Yesterday it works fine!
I send the hdd back and buy another!
now the big question:
can anyone tell me which NEW 100GB 5400rpm HDD works in the T23?
It doesn't help me when you say that it works in a T20,T21,T22 because my samsung also works in a T20 fine, but not in the T23!!!
Please help!
