#1 Post by aaron158 » Fri Mar 17, 2006 9:27 pm

i got an ibm thinkpad a22m type 2628 u9h. i replaced the motherboard in it becase the old one was starting to go. now the one i got is bandnew and does the have the system model or serial number programed into it. when i go to ibms site and try to use the auto dected system it don't work and the model and series number blank. i am told i need to have a maintenance diskette witch i do not have. can someone send me the proper version of the maintenance diskette for my system with step by step instructions on how to program in the model and serial number and anything else i might need to setup with a new motherboard.

my email for sending the disk is aaron158@msn.com

thanks in advance to anyone who can help me :D

well i found a copy of thinkpad maintenance disk version 1.69. i boot up the disk and did the read s/n and no number came out so i tryed to set a sytem unit s/n i typed in the number off the bottom of my laptop witch is 78-pkzcf and did the read thing agagin and it said 78-pkzcf but when i rebooted the system and went in the bois it said -pkzcf no numbers and i tryed redoing it with out the dash and still will only read as pkzcf in bois. when i use the auto pick system on ibms web site it will list the system type/model as -pkzcf and s/n will be blank.

can anyone tell me how to set the s/n the right way so this will work the way it use to.
