Problem with my new laptop

#1 Post by animefreak » Sat Jul 24, 2004 7:24 am

I have been haveing a little trouble with the LCD display of my 600X. When I start my laptop the LCD screen does not turn on, yet you can barley see and hear that windows is starting up. But if I reset my computer or unplug it the problem fixs its self. Is this a software problem or is my LCD screen going out? Also thank goodness I have a 6 months parts and labor still on it(I bought it used).

I can't quite understand your problem.

Is the problem with the brightness of the LCD screen or with the LCD screen turning on at all?

Is the problem the same when running on battery only as it is when plugged into AC adapter?

Sorry, The lcd backlight does not turn on, thus just giving me a dark black screen. Also I am only useing a AC power cord.

If your backlight does not come on at all, then that would be a hardware problem. I don't know much about what LCD parts might be causing the problem. Others here might be able to help you with that, or you could just use some of that warranty you have.

But the problem "fixes itself" sometimes? So sometimes your backlight works and others it doesn't?

The most common reason for the display failing to light is a small card located in the display half called the "inverter". This provides power to the little fluorescent light that backlights the display.

If you have warranty left on the system, send it back PRONTO. They will look it over for other problems.

Hope this helps.
