External PS2 mouse

On my A31 Thinkpad running XP Pro I can plug an external USB mouse in and everything works fine. However, with the port replicator, a PS2 mouse plugged in is ignored. A keyboard, on the other hand, works fine. The PS2 mouse used to work, and I'm not aware of any system change that precipitated this problem. By the way, I upgraded to the latest version of the Trackpoint driver (not sure if that should matter).
