Logitech LX5 or MS Wireless Notebook Optical Mouse
Logitech LX5 or MS Wireless Notebook Optical Mouse
I'm thinking of getting either one of these mices. Has anyone have any experiences with either of these and a Thinkpad? I've heard some ppl saying that the range was too short since the USB receiver is all the way on the left and the mouse is on the right.
While not one your list, I use a Trust bluetooth mouse, which works very well. (BTW I have 4 AAA batteries; two in the mouse and two fully charged. Hence there is very little down time when the mouse batteries are discharged.)

That Trust mouse looks nice. Wish they sold them here....
I have a MS Wireless Notebook Laser Mouse 6000 (and have pictures on www.amazon.com if you search for my profile, or search on the mouse). Range is not a problem, I can even use it for presentations. But the wheel is way too small, and fast, for my taste. Scrolling very little, or very slowly, is near impossible, and double-clicking with the wheel button is near-impossible. As often as not, I just bring my MS Comfort Mouse 3000 into a meeting room with me.
BTW, the MS IntelliPoint 5.4 software is great. Doesn't interfere with the UltraNav drivers on my system.
All this to say ... try before you buy. Or have a dependable return policy where you buy it.

I have a suspicion that when you adjust the mouse pointer speed, it will adjust settings in the UltraNav Wizard (UW). I've gotten in the habit of creating profiles in the ULtraNav Wizard, so that when I unplug a mouse, I can just return to my favorite UltraNav Wizard. (Note that you can store multiple profiles for different uses of the TrackPoint and TouchPad buttons, etc. UW is quite nice. Try FN + F8 to see if you have the quick set, and you can launch UW from there.)
Am using Logitech G7 mouse, doesn't have any range problems. Used ZERO wireless laptop mice, always have mouse comms problems because the USB is on the left but I am a right hand user. Switched to the Logitech model which used the 2.4GHz band and it doesn't interfere with my wi-fi 11g at all. Now bbth my ZERO mice are for my desktops.
