LOL, short answer.

Probably not until the next model comes out, like T61.

Does it mean that the T60p is already oldfashioned?

Nope, its professional graphics, not gaming graphics. Better for CAD than Doom3.

no thinkpad has ever had high end graphics, and its not going too... too much battery drain and too much heat to take care of dissapating. its simply not the market the TP T series line is shooting for.. it might fit better with the Z60m type machine.

the T60p has one of the best mobile graphics cards for cad, 3ds, max adobe and other software like that. The 1800 is for gaming. If they were going for the best graphics card in gaming they would go for the geforce go 7800gtx.

The T60p's video rocks! I've been playing with it today and I was able to set several games to 1400x1050, all max settings (no AA, 16x anistropic) and play at a good framerate in each case! I haven't even OC'ed it yet and that should get me 20%+ more based on my experience with the T42p.

Also, the chip apparently comes with 256M of vidram but it will use another 256M of system ram as needed. I don't claim to know how it works or what performance penalty it creates, but the driver shows 512M of HyperMemory. Sweet!

If you want to get an idea of the speed, download Kkrieger demo (96K fully functional 3D game!!) and run it on your current chip. It's a beast but it runs smoothly on the T60p. This is the first laptop I've ever been able to run it on smoothly.
