crack in ac adapter plug

#1 Post by ThinkPad R » Sun Mar 19, 2006 3:50 pm

ok... i can't believe it. i'm having so much troubles w/ my thinkpad recently

& so much miracles too... but

there is a crack in my power plug. the yellow circle is chipped off in some areas.

the outer metallic cylinder has a cut as if it was cut by a scissor in vertical, zig-zag fashion.

Is this under warranty? Also, would this hurt my laptop in any way? Thanks.

If you have a multimeter, check to make sure the inside of the plug isn't shorted with the outside. If it isn't, I don't imagine that it would cause any problems.
