help with t23 lcd negative image (Longish)

#1 Post by Brutha_Flex » Sun Mar 19, 2006 11:50 pm

hi guys,
I really appreciate the info in these forums, I have been in the market for my first laptop and decided from what I have heard and read here to buy a t23. found one on ebay, and after recieving it, the lappy has some issues  .

The lcd display occasionally goes dark, and the image is negative. there are no pink or red hues as with other problems listed here. i can get the screen to normal brightness by gently twisting the panel from the upper edges. it seems that after it warms up, It no longer has the issue.
there is a crack in the lcd bezel cover in the upper left, and the right latch is busted.

I have been in corespondance with the seller, and he has offered to take back the lappy, minus the 27 dollars I payed to have it shipped.

I won the auction for 243 dollars, so with shipping I got it for 270. it has 1.13ghz/256mb/30gb/dvdrom the battery lasts for about 2 hours, and the lappy is in excellent condition, running xp pro just fine.

I can live with crack and the missing latch for now, but I am concerned that the lcd may die, and I'll need to pump another 100 bucks to get another.

Any advice would be great.

Thanks,

flex

If you were lucky enough to buy from someone conscientious enough to agree to buy back the computer, I'd say it's a no-brainer. Eat the 27 dollars and send it back. Too many better deals on eBay to accept this one IMHO.
