Best wireless driver for X24?

#1 Post by Jumphog » Mon Mar 20, 2006 9:17 am

Ive had to re-install XP on my X24, and am having a problem finding the proper driver for the wireless card. When I first installed XP last year im pretty sure that the wireless driver came from microsoft - I vaguely remember being impressed that windows update could find it.
Ive got the 3 year old drivers from the ibm site, but when they are installed the system becomes quite unstable. I have problems with blue screen stop errors just after XP has booted, and when there is no signal for the wireless card the laptop will freeze for 1/2 a second every few minutes. Also the general wireless reception seems variable - it will suddenly drop a connection and need a reboot to get it back.
These problems never occured when I was using the other drivers, so does anyone know where I can get them from?

Well, Ive found out what one of the problems is. The stop errors seem to be caused by a port replicator (02k8668) Ive been using at work. With it plugged in XP is almost guaranteed to crash on the first couple of boot attempts.

Ive still got the issue of freezes when there is no wireless signal - does anyone have any ideas about that?
