Thinkpad Preconfigure Services

#1 Post by apoll0 » Sat Jul 24, 2004 5:36 pm

Just got my thinkpad, I'm trying to turn off servies and startup programs that are not needed (rather than a fresh windows install) to save me time and trouble. There's a couple of system services that I'm not sure what it does.

IBM KCU Service - C:\WINDOWS\system32\TpKmpSVC.exe

Does anyone know what this is?

It's related to the Keyboard Customizer Utility - if you don't use it, don't let it start - however, it won't do any harm leaving it in the SYSTEM32 file
