Static discharge

#1 Post by Mike » Tue Mar 21, 2006 2:23 pm

Hi

Just recently bought a ThinkPad Z60m with "Titanium" lid.

Sometimes when i touch the lid i get a little zap in my fingers. Seems there's a static discharge.

Is there anyone who has had the same experience? Could anything happen to the computer, or me for that matter?

I think it only happens when connected to AC.

I doubt anything will happen to your ThinkPad. I get static shocked on my T40's LCD housing all the time and as far as I can tell nothing bad has happened to the display!
Homebuilt PC: AMD Athlon XP (Barton) @ 1.47 GHz; nForce2 Ultra; 1GB RAM; 80GB HDD @ 7200RPM; ATI Radeon 9600; Integrated everything else!
