560X Backlight

#1 Post by AlphaKilo470 » Wed Mar 22, 2006 8:02 pm

I just recieved a 560X in the mail this past week and all works well but the screen is somewhat dim and I have several 12" 760 displays with almost new backlights in them. I was wondering how much of a task it would be to swap the 560 backlight with one of the 760 backlights.

I was able to resolve the brightness issue by swapping the LCD glass with the one in my 380ED which was much brighter. Upon further inspection, it turns out that the 560X's original screen had a really skinny CCFL compared to the one on the 380's original screen so I'm guessing that's why the 380's screen was so much brighter. Also, I found out that the 380 screens are the same size on the inside and use the same connectors as the LCDs on the 560 computers. I have the bright screen from my 380ED now in my 560X and the less frequently used 380ED now has the screen from my 560X.
