X22 larger hard drive replacement?

#1 Post by louise » Wed Mar 22, 2006 11:23 pm

I have an X22 with a 20gig hard drive and it's simply not big enough.

Could I put in a 60 gig drive? Is it a standard 2.5 inch drive? Would the bios recognize it?

I have a recovery disk with Win 2000.

Do I just physically install the drive and then boot from the recovery disk (I have a usb CD)?

Then could I update to XP?

Thanks.

Louise

You should be able to put a 60GB hard drive with the latest BIOS. Then use the recovery discs to restore the computer.

I would recommend the 7200 rpm drive. It will increase the performance significantly.
