#1 Post by ThinkPad R » Thu Mar 23, 2006 9:33 pm

I have a serious problem with my R40.

every 1 hr or so the antennae turn off.

then i can't pick uo any signal. access connection says it's turning on
& for a moment it says so,,,,

but it doesn't work...

only way i can get it to work is by disabling and enabling it.

help? sometimes every 5 min

Open up Access Connection from the ThinkVantage start menu group then go to Configure -> Global Settings and make sure that "Enable automatic wireless LAN radio control" is unchecked.

I think this is some sort of power saving feature, but it definitely shouldn't be enabled by default.

Ok, thats what I've got. This used to happen to me sometime. One thing that worked for me was disconnect the anntennas from the card and reboot. Then connect em again.
