I was pleased that the whole Vista / Office thing was put off until next year. My fiscal year ends in December, and if I choose to upgrade, then next year will be better for me than the end of December this year. YMMV

No suprise... better that MS waits and gets it right than rush the release and fall flat on its face.

Besides, Windows XP and Office 2003 work pretty well. There's no rush to upgrade, although the new UI features would be nice :)

People seem to moan either way - it gets released unfinished or gets delayed. I always took it for granted that it would be delayed when som eof the earlier betas had far too much XP in them - when people asked me I just said that officially september but don't expect to see if before next year.

Personally I think they should have delayed it even longer, I like Vista but it puts a strain on most systems currently out in the wild and I would prefer it was launched with the new file system etc that were cut from the initial release and as mentioned, XP does what is required for most people.

I am excited about getting a beta of the new office as it does look cool and i'm interested in the new xml document format (and the openness between other office programs that could bring) but at the end of the day, new releases of office are just a money spinner, I can allready type documents, make spreadsheets to prove any fact that I want and construct really annoying slide shows with my current version so what more do I need.
