hard drive test

the windows HDD error checking program said something like

access denied to hard drive or something.


it's b/c my laptop has HDD password. right?

You have to be logged on with an Administrator account to do a hard drive disk check. You cannot do this with a User account. As far as I know, a hard drive password is not needed for disk checking.

Also if the hdd is "locked" and scandisk cannot access it you can set it to run at next reboot by typing the following in a command window

chkdsk /c
