This seems to be a common problem since I have had it occur more than once.
Basically I have the t60p up and running using its only display in 1600x1200 mode. Then I create a remote desktop connection from another machine and when I do so, I get a BSOD.
The remote desktop resolution that I using is 1600x1050.
This seems to be a little random at the moment. Sometimes I can connect just fine, and other times I get the BSOD on the t60p.
The bsod screen indicates a stop error in a ati device driver. Next time around I see if I can get record more detail information on the nature of the error.
T60P crashing when connecting via Remote Desktop
Both machines are running xp sp2.
What I believe is happening is that when I connect to the t60p, the remote desktop puts in some virtual driver for the desktop, and switches the context of the draw routines from the graphics device driver to this virtual driver. And it during this switch the bsod occurs.
If the switch is sucessful then the remote desktop will show the windows desktop and the display on the t60p will show a login screen. Also the remote desktop when shown the display control panel, won't have an option to view the advance properties where you normally see the adapter & monitor configurations.
The remote desktop display options are configured in the remote desktop connection profile.
I've been connectiong to other machines without an issue, one is an old t23 that I remotely manage, i.e. perform software updates.
This issue is probably be mute anyhow, since I plan to use the t60p as my primary computer and primary display using external monitors.
