Black screen when I move my laptop
Black screen when I move my laptop
Hi
I have a really ennoying problem with my t42p
Everytime I move the laptop, even a little bit, or everytime I move the screen, the computer freeze and the screen turns black.
It sometimes happens even without moving the computer or when the computer is booting.
I think that Solaris had the same problem with his computer:

Do you think that updating the bios could change something ? (I updated it a few weeks ago and the new update is supposed to fix a "hang up problem" when the hard drive is not recognized)
Do you have another idea ? (my computer is still under warranty but I'd like to know if I can fix it by myself before)
Thx

That happened to my T42. Everytime I so much as moved it the screen would black out... if I positioned it just right it would work. I thought there was a problem with the connection (I had dropped my bookbag on the ground while the laptop was in its padded case.) I took it to the college support center for IBM and they just ordered a new motherboard for me. Ever since then its been fixed.

Yup; typically that would indicate more of a motherboard problem than the LCD connector being on the fritz. Actually, just about any movement-induced issues that affect the screen when moving would.
