Recovery from backup

Hello everybody,

I'd like to ask You for some help/information about my ThinkPad's Rescue and Recovery process.

After buying my laptop (Z60m) I made backup using Rescue and Recovery.
Then using Partition Magic I devided my hd into three partitions.
Now there is a lot of data on all of them...

Now I need to restore my system from backup (the whole drive C:).
I've started Rescue and Recovery and choosed Restore\Restore your system\Restore my entire hard drive, including all personal data and settings from a backup.

The question is: is it true that all data on partitions D: and E: will NOT be deleted??????

I mean that I want all the data on the partition C: will be deleted (and the system restored) BUT I DON'T WANT to loose my data from other partitions.

What do You think about it?

I think that is the theory, but I would back the other partitions up before I tried it.

Yes, you will get later the option in a menue to restore only C:.

I have done that on all my IBM laptops for since last 10 years. I have slways partition the HDD into C, D and E partitions. I always take a full backup of ALL partitions. At restore time, the restoration has always taken place on C alone. D and E always remain intact.

However, I still continue to take a backup of D and E....just in case....
