Hm, I called, and chose government/education, chose institution, and have been on hold for about 20 minutes.

Is there a way I can call the "gold team" direct, since I ordered a t42?

2378EZU, 8 in stock at the time of order.

Previously, it said Ship Date: 9/01/2004

That couldn't have been right, since the item was instock.

Is this the wonderfully quick customer service I've heard about from IBM? My neck is getting stiff listening to this awful elevator music.

Update: My order is scheduled to ship on September 1st because my 56k modem (the non-upgrade version) is "out of stock".

This is unreasonable.. I need the laptop 11 days BEFORE the ship date.

Could I ask for a free upgrade? Or should I just ask them to leave the modem out because I need the laptop?
