Is it me or is enabling the Thinkpad Security Chip on my X31 making my laptop sloooooowwww...
I assumed that hardware based security should provide "better" performance and still give me the great protection. To my dismay this has proven to be the exact opposite. The computer takes an eternity just to boot up. Overall the computer is slower during operation, but not terriblty bad. I never had my chip fail yet, but I remember reading about it. Sounds like a lot of hassle.
It doesn't matter if it was the older version of the client security software or the newer developed by Lenovo.
Anyone else have this performance degradation problem? Any solutions?
