T42P Sudden shutdown any help is appreciated

#1 Post by behar1 » Thu Mar 30, 2006 2:57 pm

I have a 2373C96 T42P P M 765, 2GB RAM, 80GB HDD,15 UXGA 600x1200

http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site. ... yle=lenovo

Any Cpu demanding application such as the installation of a large program like Office 2003, .NET Framework will revup the fan and cause it's
shutdown so badly that even the windows will not know what happened to do a disk check on reboot.

I installed the Notebook Hardware Control 1.9 which took care of all the problems while operating under Windows

While not in Windows ie, Clean Install of Xp or loading a Ghost image file
The problem is very much there, fan will revup and the machine will die
I have sent it in for repair and all that Mr. lenovo did is replace the system board which did not make a bit of difference

I googled the problem and found this

http://forums.us.dell.com/supportforums ... .id=139712

Which seems to be the exact same problem that I have but it is a Dell
So I am even more confused, any help is appreciated
Thanks in advance :)

My opinion.

Your should have them replace the motherboard again, to me sounds like motherboard failure.
