Last night while playing a game, I noticed the keyboard has heating up at an alarming rate. I checked the fan, and noticed it was not spinning. I rebooted the laptop, and was greeted by the "FAN ERROR" message. I've had this happen before, and sent it in to get fixed. However, I would rather not be without a computer for a week, so I was thinking about opening it up and checking the connection on the fan, and making sure the fan wasn't just jammed. I've opened it up to clean the keyboard before, and I'm sure I can handle it just fine, but before doing so I wanted to make sure there was actually some chance that this would fix the problem. What are the odds that doing this might result in the fan working?
(For those wondering how I am posting with a broken computer: I'm currently running it with as low speed/power consumption as possible at 43C, but can only run it for a few minutes before the temp starts to rise too high.)
