A30 CPU upgrade

#1 Post by lewdvig » Mon Jul 26, 2004 10:46 pm

Has anyone tried this? I saw a a30 mobo and notiiced that is uses a socketed CPU (370) so putting in a 1.33 Tualatin PIII should be possible.

The fastest P3 mobile is the 1.2 gig
The Tualitin 1.33 AFAIK is not a mobile chip

I have an A30 that has the 1.13 Tualatin, but i dont think the 1.33 will work.

I don't know if it is technically a "Tulatin", but I think you are again confusing it with a desktop chip. Not the same thing at all

Yeah they made a 1.33 IIIM. The 512kb of L2 cache suggests that it is a Tualatin core made with the groovy copper process. But I am not sure if the socket is the same as in my old a30. I think there were a few sockets configs used for PIII mobile chips.

I sold my a30 so the question is moot for me.
