What is the normal range of T60 fan speed and temperature?

#1 Post by bibo » Sat Apr 01, 2006 12:05 am

The fan noise of my T60 sounds louder than when I first got it. I used the fan control software to test the fan speed and temperature. The speed went up to over 3800rpm and barely went down. The hotest part was the graphic card which was 64 degree celsius. Therefore, to reduce the noise, I turned the graphic card to optimal battery life mode and cpu speed to 1G even when the computer was plugged in. The fan speed droped to about 3300rpm. My question is if my fan speed is normal. Some people said their T60s were quiet but mine is pretty noisy. I usually stay in a 67F room and my graphic card is X1400. Thank you.

You can also get the ATItool to clock down your GPU and the memory bus.

It can go lower than PowerPlay and still be stable, although I don't know what the lowest stable ratings are for the x1400; you can experiment. ;) :)

I met someone who looks a lot like you.
She does the things you do.
But she is an IBM.

Compared to the GPU temperature, the wind coming out from the vent is very cool. So I am wondering if the cooling system is efficient.
