Wireless blues

#1 Post by krosenstein » Tue Jul 27, 2004 12:32 am

I have a T-41 2373-9FU with the IBM a/b/g wireless card installed, and I recently added a Netgear wireless access point to my home network.

Initially, everthing seemed to work OK. But when I enabled the WPA encryption on the AP, my machine would no longer automatically connect on boot-up, and I could not connect manually through the IBM utility but had to use the Windows connection utility. (I've already installed the WinXP update that allows use of WAP encryption.)

Don't know what else to do. any ideas?

If you have XP system restore on, go to control panel--> performance and maintenance --> system restore (upper left-hand corner) and restore the system to the point before you installed the update.

As to why this would occur or how you can fix it w/o removing the update, I don't know.
