I just got a new X40 (23718eu) without Wi-Fi for use in a data collection application. I need 802.11bg but can't use the PCMCIA slot since it's needed for an instrument interface. IBM says 3-6 weeks shipping for an Intel PROWireless 2200bg, so I ordered one on eBay and get the dreaded Error 1802. Does anyone know if the various no-1802 patches still work with recent X40's?

Thanks, I had to get a usb floppy drive before I did the no-1802.com patch. So I just now installed it and it works great. Even with buying the usb-floppy drive (which I needed anyway) it was cheaper than buying the radio from IBM
