Want to swap out a 1ghz for a 1.2 ghz cpu for my T23.

I like to tinker and besides if I can pick one up for 20.00 it's a cheap upgrade...

I would say its a cheap ugrade whose effects you wont' be able to detect in actual use. Do a search in the forum for posts referring to problems with the 1.2 cpu. I'm not sure the upgrade would be worth even $20.

I swapped out my 1ghz to the 1.2ghz and definatly felt a difference.

200mhz might not matter on a P4, but most definatly does on a p3/p-m

Yup, changed it out last night. Got a 1.2 for 15.00 (thats cheap)..it does seem a bit faster and no problems at all...and I sold the 1.0 for 20.00 (I made 5 bucks)

Wow congrats! Great deal even if the difference turns out to be minimal, which I wouldn't expect. You can't complain if you made money in the deal.

Was this purchase on eBay?

It was on ebay (albeit briefly). He was local so I asked if he wanted the deal and I would pick up..which he agreed to.
