trackpad sensitivity more adjustment possible?

#1 Post by louise » Wed Apr 05, 2006 4:08 pm

I have an x40 and I have the trackpoint set for using as little pressure as possible. Nevertheless, after using it for 1 or more hours, I feel like it's too stiff to push around.

Is there any "trick" to make the pressure setting even less? A registry adjustment, a hack - anything?

TIA

Louise

Well, there is a difference between the proportional response and the velocity response of the trackpoint for any given pressue on it in the desired direction. I was thinking that I had to set it high too, but then I discovered I could leave it on the "6 of 9" setting and crank up the speed of the mouse as well as the precision as interpolated by Windows. That got me to a point where I could use it very quickly and with extreme precision.

Try turning the sensitivity down a bit, then playing with some of the mouse speed settings until you approach a combination that feels just right. :)

She does the things you do.
