SXGA vs. SXGA+

#1 Post by kamikrazy » Tue Jul 27, 2004 3:37 pm

I'm currently debating between the two.

15" SXGA for 50 extra
or
14.1" SXGA+ as the standard

Is there even a difference between the SXGA and SXGA+?
Thanks again for all your help

Edit: I did some research and found out that SXGA = 1280x1024 and SXGA+ = 1400 X 1050. However under the description of SXGA on the IBM website it states that the display is 1400x1050.

There is no SXGA in IBMs. They are either XGA, SXGA+ or UXGA

Thanks a lot stgreek. I guess it was a typo, and now it just comes down to preference of whether I like the 15" enough to pay 50 dollars more.

Yeah, there are a lot of typos on the IBM thinkpad site for some reason...

The 15" v. 14" decision is a hard one to make. You'll be happy either way imo.

I just got my 15" and love the flexview screen.
Unless you just can't handle an extra 0.2" thickness & 1" length, get the 15"; the improved screen is worth it.

The 15" is still slim & trim in my opinion.

I agree. I have both, and the 15" is just fine. The screen is great. The extra size/weight savings on the 14" is HUGE though. Use the two side by side and the 14" almost feels like an X40 :)
