ThinkPad Newbie with a 240X

#1 Post by losmeme » Wed Apr 05, 2006 10:12 pm

Hello All

Have a 240X and was wondering about the fan visable at the top left corner on the back. Should it be spinning constantly, or does it only kick in at a certain point?

Thanks for the opinions, I've loved IBM desktops for years. It's great to finally have a ThinkPad![/i]

As for the memory questions, yes to all of them.

As for the fan, it generally spins at start up and then only spins when needed.

By the way, Welcome to the Forum!!! And excellent find!!!

Congrats on getting the 240X! I just got a 400MHz Celeron TP240 in mint condition yesterday and love it! It's the third 240 I have bought, because I like it so much! I bet your 240X is even better.
