Alert by move of the ThinPad t43

#1 Post by Bommel » Thu Apr 06, 2006 8:09 am

Hello,
does anybody knows a tool which uses the movement detection of the harddisk to generate a alert if the computer is moved. That could be very useful in librarys in cooperation with normal lock to prevent thefts. I use a t43p.

Thanks

Bommel

You mean something like this?

EDIT: Just realized that you said "of the harddisk". I am not aware of one for the hard drive.

There's a script to do this in linux with a thinkpad with the hard drive protection system. It streams the data from the accelenometer and lets out a huge sound if its alarm is enabled and someone picks it up
