Hi everyone, i'm riz from singapore still new in this forum and only been using laptop for roughly a year. thinking about purchasing z series. any insight anyone?

i would say, just go for it. this is almost a perfect machine for me, everything works fine, not a single bad feeling from this type. but, the palm rest of z is extremely not easy to remove, for example if you would like to upgrade your memory or insert some additional peripherals, this gonna be a pain in the axx.

You are from singapore. Me too. Hi. Welcome to this forum. I am using Z60t. Stylist, i agree and good. Working well. I think r series thinkpad is robust. I banged onto my r52 palmrest and nothing happen. I did the same thing to my Z60t and the hard disk stopped. Must do hard shutdown and restart system again. You guess, is Z series thinkpad good. Another thinkpad from Lenovo not IBM.

that is interesting, I gonna bang my palm rest as well and let you know the result later. the r series is quite robust i agree, the thick ABS plastic makes quite a strong thinkpad. but with Z60t, you get light weight and thin body. some times, compromization cannot be avoided

Reminds me of an incident I heard of when I was working at a power plant under construction in Wyoming. The carpenter crew had a helper that had a speech impediment, but was porported to be quite intelligent. The carpenters were discussing among themselves just how safe the safety belt was for working at heights. The helper said 'sure it's safe, watch'! And he proceded to jump off the landing with only the safety belt holding him. Luckily he didn't err.
