I am going to replace Intel 3945ABG with Lenovo part # 40Y7026 which is atheros chipset-based Mini PCIe adapter 802.11 A/B/G same used in Z60t. Part # 40Y7026 can be purchased from Amazon for $48.00 (shipped free), so I ordered one and see how it goes.
Sovereignty68: I assume you have received your Atheros adapter by now. Does it perform OK / better than the Intel adapter?
Yes, please let us know. The older Atheros WiFi card in my two-year old X40 detects far more access points than the Intel card in my new X60. I'm concerned about what happens in weak signal areas.

I am having exactly the same problem with my new t60 using the 3945abg card with the latest drivers, I never had this problem with any other card including my t42 which has atheros. Now with the t60 not only my connection drops but the whole network drops  its crazy, So no one have posted any feedback on changing to atheros 40Y7026 which is what i am about to do, bright away i am using netgear wpnt834 which is the best router i ever use and i dont want to ditch it if the atheros card works, so please leave any feedback on the atheros.

Perhaps you will find some information on this page that will help. Note that if you download wireless drivers from the Intel site, Access Connections will not work with them.

Just and update:
First thanks :)
Now after I change drivers, use both intels and IBMs the same happen so I just gave up on the 3945abg card and baught on amazon.com the 40Y7026 card.
And everything so far is working great no drops no interruptions just perfect  and I am finally enjoying my T60 laptop which I have to say is much faster then the t42 which I had before.

Also the Atheros 40Y7026 card is much better then the intel 3945abg card.

It has an average of 20% range. Where the 3945abg shows 80% signal strenght the 40Y7026 shows 100%. Not only that it detects more hotspot, the 3945abg shows 4 and the 40Y7026 shows 9 hotspot.

So if I were any of you I will buy the Atheros 40Y7026 is well worth the extra money.

PS: Dont even bother calling the IBM Tech support they can't get it through their head that somethign is wrong with this card, so save your time and don't even bother
