Any chance of WSXGA+ on the Z61T?
So i was in Office Depot today and there was a Z60t on display. It looks *much* better in person than it does in the pictures, and I actually rather liked it. I dont think there is a chance in hell i am going to be able to spring for a 15.4" widescreen notebook, and i dont know if i can live with 1280x768.
Does anyone know if there is any chance of a 14" WSXGA+ screen in the future? 1680x1050 would be real nice... otherwise ill just stick to the T series and my 14.1" SXGA+.
also, any chance for descrete graphics on the z61t? /me no likie the GMA...

i like high resolutions... UXGA on a 14" T series would be comfy for me...
hell, even wxga+ (1440x900) would be cool..

Z61T & Z61m in the works that incorporate the features you are looking for. A friend of mine in the UC University system has a list for student purchases beginning in May. Had I known I would have waited as I really like my Z60m but wish it did have the features you outlined. Prices also seem to be in line.

That would be awesome!
a Z60t that could beat the resolution of my T40/SXGA+ and has all the spec of the T60 would win me over, the size of it is perfect IMO, just barely between an X and a T with the addition of an ultrabay device

It doesn't look like the Z61t will have WXGA+; but it appears as if the Z61m will have it

Wow, Awesome....I just might look into the Z61t when it comes out. All the Z60ts I have seen thus far have impressed me quite a bit, this only adds to it.

i agree. Assuming there are no downsides of the z61t compared to the z60t (more heat, worse build, etc). I'm definately picking one up. The battery life is better, its pretty lightweight for a 14" wide screen, and its sturdy. Sounds good to me.
I want a 1.6ghz core duo, BT, Titanium, dvd burner, 4 cell version.

It seems to me that Lenovo chose the wrong format: 14.1" instead of 13.3"
A quick market search shows that most business widescreens are 13.3" (even the new MacBook). I can assume, that sooner or later the 14.1" widescreens will become quite expensive (low sales volume) and no further developments would be made.
You just could switch the internal display with another one from the major producers. e.g. a Brightview or X-Black display.
They should be all compatible anyway if you check the connector (30 pin industry format).
A friend of mine has a R51 with XGA, and recently put in a glossy SXGA in (kind of X-Black, but very low reflection). It was IDTech (which makes Flexview as well). VERY NICE!

Where are you getting that from? With the exception of the vaio there are precious few 13.3" notebooks none of which I would consider "business." Since corporate america primarily buys hp, dell, or lenovo and none of them have a 13.3. 14" are WAY more numerous by any count than 13.3"beeblebrox wrote:It seems to me that Lenovo chose the wrong format: 14.1" instead of 13.3"

The text description of that machine is all kinds of wrong. Guess, I'll have to call to get the straight story. Weird that it does not show up in the tabook.souman wrote:It's already up for sale on Lenovo website. 94402CU z61t. It shows up as z60t on the list page but when you click customize it shows z61t.
