Has anyone else caught on to this scrolling trackpad feature

#1 Post by Scratch » Sat Apr 08, 2006 10:24 pm

I've been sitting around doing a little web browsing to break up the work monotony and noticed some odd behavior by the trackpad.

I usually use the trackpoint and middle button for sliding through web pages, but I just found that the trackpad has an interesting feature to do this as well that is better in some ways.

Did I completely miss this on my T43p or is it new to the T60p?
T'Pad 600e, 770x, A20p, A21p, A30p, A31p (2653-H3U), T43p (2668-Q2U) & T60p (2623-DDU)...it's an addiction.

I've seen a couple of different implementations of the feature, but have never noticed it on my T'Pad(s)...probably because i"ve just always defaulted to the trackpoint and middle button when not using USB Mouseman.

It's quite well done that all you have to do is run your finger lightly down the right side of the trackpad. I'll have to try to get used to using it this way as it's easier than my old ways.

Knock one more benefit of the MBP over T'Pad off that list from the other day.

You can even tweak the scroll regions with the utlra nav wizard, you can scroll back and forth by touching the bottom of the pad similar to the up and down motion on the right side of the pad.

I personally think that the Apple implementation (use two fingers for vertical and horizontal scrolling) is superior. I hate the idea of having different "zones" on a trackpad, especially when they are not marked and especially when Lenovo have made the trackpad smaller.

I'll shut up now and keep using my trackpoint. :P
