It has been reported as operational for the T60 and unless there have been *massive* changes in the EC or how it talks to the hardware, it should work fine.

The only thing to change is the default fan control profile for it. That was designed with the T4X Series in mind and will probably give you strange results on the X60 and/or the X60s.

HTH :)

With all respect, that "answer" above doesn't help since T60 is not X60. Why lock the original thread if the question is X60 specific??

For actual X60/s owners, did anyone try the fan control utility on your Thinkpads? Thanks.

I did and it seems to be 'working.' Although I'd like to know what the best voltage is for it.

That's good to hear. I would think you want a lowest stable voltage without causing prime95 error.

Sorry, I'm the lazy sort. Anyone care to experiment on their X60s?

First Reason? Cross-Posting

Second Reason? True the X60 is not a T60, but if they made any changes to the EC control architecture, it is very probable that it would have been a inter-series upgrade. Case in point, the FCU works on T4X Series Thinkpads as well as X4X Series Thinkpads. It would be hard for me to imagine FCU working on the T60 and not on the X60 as that would tend to suggest a very large shift in hardware since they both use similar setups. :)
