iTunes seems to load really slow

My itunes seems to load really slowly. Everyother program I open is lightening quick. Any help.

I have exactly the same problem: when starting iTunes, my notebook is hardly usable the next 30-60 secs. This is probably related to the automatic download of podcasts on my system, which show up when I start the software. On the other hand, even if I disable to download these podcasts, the startup time is [censored] slow.

I have the same problem as well. Whenever I open or close iTunes, the computer seems to freeze for about 15 seconds. However, this only happens when I have firefox open at the same time.

Its cause Itunes is along the lines of AOL instant messanger as far as booting unnecessary junk and hogging system resources are concerned.
