Hello
xcuse my bad english please .
Bought my 1st T30 Type 2367-84G as "non functional" ,
price was too good , so i couldn´t resist;), dozens of elder models left my hands repaired.
Date to cancel the business (according to german law) is apr.20.
The symptoms:
doesn´t boot (15minutes), CPU remains cold, screen + ccfl show no function,
all led´s stay dark - even the one for battery charging.
1. power on shows a blink from the led left of the ultrabay , fdd inside gives 1 audible "klick"
+ from the speakers the normal switching sound i know from the T2_ type.
Also the fan starts for a quarter of a second or so.
Next attempt to boot happens nothing , if i switch several times (ac adaptor + battery removed)
the game starts all over again.
Tested with ac , battery(33.1/47.6Wh) + both , external crt , the display has been disconnected ,
bios battery + mini pci removed , without 256mb ram module, also tested it in both slots.
(one of them needed remarkable less pressure to push the module down!)
my questions are :
Any suggestions what i forgot to test ? (+ how to)
Could it be the memory slot problem ? , + if yes, how to get the board changed in old germany ?
Regards , tom_k

T30 dead ?
Hello
Thx for your fast reply !
Voltage of the actual Bios Batttery is 3,01V , that should serve ,
but i´ll do as you say + report asap .
(hope is the last who dies as we say here;)
My new ones range afair from 3.2 - 3.3V , I´ll give it the strongest;)
+ will also , which i must admit hasn´t been done yet ,
measure its voltage on the board to ensure the connector is not damaged
(though optically there´s nothing remarkable , inserted it upside up with visual contact;)
btw. i´m sure , the vendor tried to "repair" it too , keybord bezel screws no 4 have been fixed with brute force , the one to the front 2mm to deep,
but obviously nothing has been damaged.
Regards , tom_k

Hello
The old bios battery showed 3.01V on the board ,
like about 30h before when measured externally ,
so there also seems to be no loss when connected.
I tried to start with the new bios battery(3.28V) + maximum powersupply,
connected to port replicator with ac 4.5A/72W + charged main(33Wh) + ultrabay(35Wh) battery ,
but no changes in behavior.
Sorry but it´s 2l8 for me now , i´ll go to sleep + bb tomorrow
(for most of you still today;)
