High pitched noise coming from HD

I have noticed that every time that I move my thinkpad T42, there is a high pitch noise coming from the Hard Disk for a few seconds. Is this normal?

Yeah, that would be the active hard drive protection at work. If this bothers you, you can adjust the sensitivity in the Control Panel so it isn't triggered as easily.
