My wife just got me two car floor matts from Orange County Choppers (OCC), my favorite show. She mistakenly got the ones for the rear of the truck instead the ones for the front. But wait, I have a better idea. These matts are so nice looking that I need to see them at all times. They are now my soft pads for my T42p and my T23. Yeah! Perfect size too.

Lay them on the desk and set my thinkpad on them.

Dont think that is a very "COOL" idea that will cause a bunch of heat build up.

car floor mats generally have thick ridges in them to channel water that gets tracked into the car, heat wont be an issue

I was thinking carpet floor mats. I suppose if they are the plastic sort then that would be a different story.
