A30p memory upgrade recommendations? suppliers compatibility

#1 Post by johngalt » Fri Apr 14, 2006 3:19 pm

I'm looking to upgrade my A30P 2653-4qu to at least 512 mb (from one 256 sodimm) and ideally 1GB.

Compatibility questions: Will any SODIMM SDRAM PC133 144 pin modules work, or are there compatibility questions? Outside of these specs, are there any other modules that work fine, although not "IBM certified"?

Who has the best value on the web for memory? Aside from ebay, any used memory sources that I can benefit from?

From your experience, aside from high-end graphics (not too often in my uses), would I notice a difference going from 512 to 1GB? I'm just an average user, MS OFFICE, Photoshop, Macromedia apps, etc.

Any other issues I should consider, but have not mentioned?

Thanks for all the help, dewds.

Bob

Thanks for any
