BATTERY NOT CHARGING WHEN COMPUTER RUNNING WITH AC ADAPTER

I just realized that the battery does not charge when the AC adapter is plugged and the computer is running. I used the computer on battery until the battery percentage went down to 60 % and then I turned off the computer and plugged the ac adapter. I let it charge for about an hour. I turned on the computer and I saw that the battery had been charged to 89%. I let the battery charge for over an hour but the battery percentage did not change. What may be wrong? Technical support told me that it may be the system board. Any other guesses?

I had the some problem with my T41. The battery didn't charge when I was using the AC adapter. I called IBM, told them my problem and a new battery arrived the next moring. Excellent service!

I had the same problem as well, i switched out the battery with another one at work, then switched the battery back and it started to charge.

Are you sure you have the proper AC adapter?
