#1 Post by EricRC » Fri Apr 14, 2006 10:23 pm

have u met any problems during using T60? i'm going to buy an IBM laptop, and i'm a little hesitate between T43 and T60.i don't know which one i should buy,T60 is a brand new product and i don't know whether it is reliable and as stable and durable as the T43. Could anyone give me some suggestion? Thanks in advance

I recommend T60 in performance perspective, dual core is amazingly fast , mine(200764U) is very stable and solid.
You can buy T60 from Lenovo web,and try it.
If you don't like it ,return it.

No problems here. Installed all of my software and all is up and running very well. Not a glitch and the T60p IS much faster.

Nope, not a single issue with mine to this point. Except a crappy feeling keyboard, but everything opporates just peachy.

Try flipping your T60 over and making sure that all of your screws to the keyboard are snugged. When I was doing my RAM upgrade I checked all of the screws and found two not quite snug.

I must say my keyboard on my T60p is quite nice, much nicer than my T43p.

I had an initial problem with my T60 as far as
WiFi is concerned. After a week of trying to figure
it all out I discovered a compatability issue with
my Linksys router. There is a known issue between
the Intel network card on the T60 and some Linksys
routers (particularly the WRT54GX4).

I bought a Belkin router and suddenly all was well.

Other than that, the T60 is a fantastic laptop. If you
are teetering between an IBM and other brands let
me assure you the IBM is the better choice. I own 3
other laptops and the build quality on the IBM blows
everything else away. Additionaly, IBM support is
second to none. No outsourced Customer Support here
as most to all of it comes out of Atlanta Georgia.

i had fan noise problem. fan speed and the power schemes did not agree and the fan was on - all the way - all the time - i do not know if this is the way the machine is supposed to function but it quickly [censored] me off.

im waiting for a replacement right now. i will post an update when it arrives.

service?

#11 Post by Cassirer » Tue Apr 18, 2006 7:44 am

I have had NO problems with the T60 ... it runs like a dream, quiet, stable, and the screen is wondeful (keyboard too) .... luck of the draw .... but the service, well that is the problem there was none to speak of... and perhaps even more important the attitude of IBM has left a bad impression on me ... while I understand that they were perhaps not in a position to legally help me ... they clearly were not interested in helping me ... in fact they promised to get back to me within 48 hours three times ... hmmmm perhaps the clock on the T60 is not working becuase it seems like a lot longer...

I would nevertheless buy the same machine again ... and would recommend it

Everything about my 2007-76U has been perfect. It's locked onto my Linksys WRT54G router and hasn't burped.

I'm having a problem getting my H-P 6840 wireless printer to work with it but otherwise not one single thing to complain about.

This is my first laptop of any kind and I have to say I'm really impressed with the build quality of the T60.

Nice, but it only shows you the FRU number. How do I map that to an actual keyboard?

For instance, my T41p (as an example, I realize this is a T60 thread) has a keyboard FRU of 08K4986 - what does that mean?

I am curious to know what my T41p has so I can decide what to expect on the T60p I am about to order.

Do a search for the FRU in the search box at the top of the web page.

You should eventually find it.
