Correct Bluetooth Module for a T42 2373H6U

#1 Post by dspeed » Mon Apr 17, 2006 7:31 am

Perhaps somebody can help cut through the fog with my Bluetooth upgrade.

While I have never been able to find the H6U on a list in the Maint Manual for an upgrade, I have seen posts where owners of this varient have Bluetooth in their H6U.

After browsing through the Forum awhile yesterday, I 'bit the bullet' and ordered the 39T0022 CDC module to upgrade my 2373H6U.

Then I read further and find a note saying that ;the T42 version is more expensive'. Unfortunately, when you search on 39T0022, it calls up a different P/N, (one more akin to the format in the Maint Manual) but does not print it on the invoice.

Now I'm confused. Did I order the wrong module?

Any insight appreciated.

They seem to have discontinued the 39T0022 ?

From Mechanicsburg, PA (?) this morning:

"The part ordered, 39T0022, is not available. Your order may be filled with an IBM Engineering approved alternative. The alternate part number is 39T0026 at a price of $45.00 and stock is not available."

They go on to advise me to call to see if the alt will work.

Guess I'll do just that.

I found the eBAY connection too.

Well, after an hour on the phone with a gentleman, I got nowhere as far as confirming the recommended P/N replacement.

Further searching on IBM (?Lenovo) almost unmanagable site showed that the 2373H6U was 'standard' with Bluetooth (even if it is not mentioned in the manual).

Went looking for a 91P7319 which has been superseeded by the 27R1880. Which is showing $75 + *and* is out of stock.

So I Googled 91P7319 and found the eBAY connection.

Bottom line - $54 insured shipment from Houston for what is advertised as a new in box version B card that will work with most TP models.

Thanks to all who responded. I am enjoying my bluetooth headset on my cell and wanted to do the bt mouse and headsite for VIOP.
