Slimbay battery gives error and blinking battery light

#1 Post by rcrooks » Mon Apr 17, 2006 11:38 am

I recently bought a battery off ebay... it is the correct sku and all that jazz, but when I plug it in I get an error.

Anyone have any idea what the problem could be??

Its IBM branded and all that...

Im getting REALLY sick of these ebay scam artists... this is my 2nd battery... The first once held 14 Wh, not 23, and had 160 cycles, not 6, now this one wont even boot. I dont have my A/C with me, hopefully plugging it in and then inserting the battery will fix it, otherwise return #2 is happening... GRRR

Hmm its way risky buying things like batteries from ebay. You can never be 100% sure of a battery's history until it fails!

Alot of the time the seller won't accept the return, and these days ebay are toothless. The don't bother getting involved unless its outright fraud, which your credit card company covers you for anyway!

Pay the little bit extra and buy it from a reputable source in future.

hahahaha, your battery is fine. You need to charge the first battery first fully and than the Thinkpad will charge the ultrabay battery. It's not broke, it's just really emty that's it. Try it. AC plug in, laptop off and wait a couple of hours (depending on how low battery #1 is).
